Deadline for Coaches Applications--Sept. 2nd 2026

You will be required to obtain your own personal Criminal Record Check and Enhanced Vulnerable Sector Check (EVSC) Report at the local RCMP station.

*****PLEASE NOTE*****
Occasionally, while applying for the RCMP CRC and EVSC, your DOB may match one that the RCMP has on file anywhere in Canada; therefore, they will be requesting your fingerprints. There can be a slight waiting period for the return of your CRC and EVSC.

To simplify the process, please follow these steps...
1) Visit your local RCMP station with 2 pieces of ID.
In order to have a Criminal Record Check done at your local RCMP Detachment, you will need a letter from TMHA. These letters will be given to the Division Heads to distribute.
If you have supplied a Criminal Record Check to TMHA in the last 3 years, you will not be required to do one.
If you don’t have the criminal record check available when applying, please continue with the application and submit it by email once you have obtained it.
2) Attach your RCMP Criminal Record to this application or email to tisdaleminorhockey@gmail.com
3) All head coach and assistant applications must attach a practice plan
(practice plan should pertain to the age group applying for)

UPDATE:

Hockey Canada is officially replacing the Respect in Sport program with a new, modernized platform titled "The Shift Forward: Evolving Hockey Culture". This new home for national education will provide age-appropriate, engaging, and progressive content specifically designed to change unhealthy behaviors on and off the ice.

  • Current Qualifications: If you currently have a "Respect in Sport – Activity Leader" qualification on your hockey profile qualifications, it will remain recognized for the next two hockey seasons, expiring June 2028
  • New Certification: Starting June 1, 2026, all new coaches, rostered staff, officials, and parents/guardians will utilize the Shift Forward platform for their required training.
  • Coaches/team staff cannot add their Respect in Sport from another sport, as that functionality has been disabled. They would have to complete the new Shift Forward.
